MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM FOR NURSES
Abstract
Nurses have important contribution to deliver health care services in general and nursing care service in particular.
Nursing care delivery system includes nursing documentation in Indonesia needs to be improved.
In implementing the nursing documentation, many nurses complained of insufficient time, too wordy,and lack of understanding in writing the documentation.
This article attempts to present a solution to anticipate disadvantages of manual and written documentation.
The proposed solution is to implement computer based management information system Computer based Management Information System (MIS) is very practical, since it has capability to keep bunches of data in a Computer based Management Information System (MIS) is very practical, sinces it has capability to keep bunches of data in a small box/hard disk of 15x10x5 cm.
Computer based MIS is designed to empower Indonesian nurses in documentation, so they will not be left behind by their colleagues from other countries.
Computer based MIS is many advantages, how ever it’s still to be comprehensively prepared in order to produce an effective, accurate, achievable, manageable and trusted information system.
