Invitation to submit to Human Resources for Health

Dear Colleague,

I am pleased to invite you to submit a manuscript to a new thematic series from Human Resources for Health entitled ‘Right Time, Right Place: Improving access to health service through effective retention and distribution of health workers’.

Health systems around the world are looking to improve access to health services and health system effectiveness. Two key interlocking components of a sustainable health workforce solution are to keep scarce skills in the system by effective retention strategies, and to enable them to be deployed where they can best make a positive difference to population health.

Many management, education and policy solutions to achieving "right time, right place" are being tried and tested in different countries. This thematic series sponsored by Health Workforce Australia (HWA) will report on:

New analysis
Strategic intelligence
Evidence that are pointing to improvements in retention and distribution of health workers
Provide new insights in what can be

The deadline for submissions is 31st August 2013 and the publication date is anticipated to be November 2013. James Buchan will be the series Editor (Health Workforce Australia and Queen Margaret University) and all manuscripts will undergo rigorous peer review according to the journal’s policy. Please note that the peer review process is entirely independent of Health Workforce Australia.

The thematic series is sponsored by Health Workforce Australia, who will be covering the Article Processing Charge (APC). Before submitting please contact James Buchan (email:James.Buchan) for funding information. Also please indicate ‘Right time, Right place’ thematic series in your cover letter.
